Agreement Incorporating EU Commission Model Clauses

Our friends in the EU can sign these documents to allow the secure, cross-border transfer of customer data

Last revised and effective as of: January 12, 2016

Our #1 priority is to maintain the security and privacy of all data processed by Help Scout products.

Given the determination of the European Court of Justice that the EU-U.S. Safe Harbor Framework does not provide a valid legal basis for transfers of personal data from Europe to the U.S., Help Scout is making available to its EU users an Agreement including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses (also referred to as "model clauses"). These model clauses were issued by the European Commission as a measure to legalize the cross-border transfer of personal data to countries outside of Europe, including the United States.

While the U.S. Department of Commerce and the EU Commission work on a more permanent solution to the issue, these model clauses allow our customers in the EU to conduct business as usual with Help Scout. If and when any more permanent measures are adopted, we will notify you so that all sides can remain compliant with privacy laws.

Please fill out the fields below, and you will be redirected to fill out and sign the Agreement including the model clauses. Please keep in mind the model clauses were issued directly by the EU Commission and cannot be revised.
